What’s New: Kehillah Community Education Initiative
Kehillah (Hebrew: “community”) is the name of the Jewish Academy’s new community education program. Our goal is to strengthen and enrich the New Mexico Jewish community of adults, children, families and institutions by providing ongoing classes, workshops, retreats and other meaningful experiences that contribute to Jewish literacy in the Southwest. Targeting unaffiliated Jews in the community, families who are part of Jewish Academy, and members of other faiths, these programs will expand how we carry out our mission.
The Jewish Academy’s Kehillah program has three distinct components (click the links to learn more about each one):
- After School Hebrew & Jewish Studies for Youth (Grades 4-7) — Starts September 2nd
- Interfaith Hebrew Language Course for Adults (All Faiths & Experience Levels Welcome) — Starts September 4th
- Adult Jewish Studies Program (Coming Soon)
In addition to the Kehillah program, the Jewish Academy’s K-5 elementary school is currently enrolling new students in all grades for the 2014/15 school year. We’d love to meet with you and give you a tour of the facilities and campus, introduce you to our faculty and give your student a chance to spend a half-day at our school to experience New Mexico’s only Jewish day school.
